Nokia N80/90 or Sony Ericsson K800i
I have just recieved a SE k800i on an upgrade from Orange. I`ve been experiencing lots of problems with the phone itself which they are trying to resolve. The long and short of it is : should I get a replacement k800i or opt for an N80/90?
I decided to to stay with SE as I previously had a k750i which I loved and was very easy to use and had all the features I wanted (maybe not all). I used to have Nokia years ago and found them to be reliable.
I`d value your suggestions/opinions.
Thanks

RE: Nokia N80/90 or Sony Ericsson K800i
Major differences:
K800i: chunkier (to my eye), standard phone except for a really nice camera
N80: Think of every technology to do with a phone, and cram it into one. With a 3 megapixel camera which takes great shots during the day - slightly pants at night. Apart from the other expected functions - it is Quad Band which means it supports some UMTS bands as well. It has Wifi, office doc readers, adobe PDF reader and a very very nifty browser... I have it, and wouldnt give it up for the world (well the N93 might convince me).
The only thing to watch out with the N80 - when you are getting it, ensure you have firmware rev 3.0617.0.6 (03/05/06) or newer. Earlier firmware - 3.0614 is bugged and painful to use.
I bought a 2gig SD card for mine from mymemory and on a recent train trip loaded some movies onto the SD card and spent time on the train watching them. Much better than getting bored!

Thanks for oyur response. I shall wait for Orange to call me in a few days with the next set of silly instructions re buttons to press on my phone. I`ll try to get a new phone otherwise i`ll cancel my 3+ years (i`ve been with them) contract.
incidentally, where can I get the firmware from and how do I check the firmware of the phone itself?
Thanks

You can get the firmware upgraded at any Nokia authorised repair center. To check press *#0000# on your nokia phone. I dont know if this works on other phones as well (I would expect it to as the *#06# for IMEI works on all phones).

I tried an N80 and did not like the build quality, I would stick with the SE.
