DON`T USE ENTERPRISES DVD

Although this company seemed ok back in the days of laserdisc,I have found them to be getting worse all the time.
Their monthly catalogue is one good point, but I used them only for £18+ purchases as they sorted out customs etc.
I ordered the Frasier season 11 box months ago.It was due out in early November and a week after the release date they promised it would be on the way.
It was 6 weeks after release I eventually got it.
While on the phone about I ordered an X-files set.Although the price quoted was £5 dearer than on their site they promised to charge me the online price. But they did not.And the refund never arrived either.
Recently I ordered 2 box sets.Telephoning them was a waste of time. They said that Royal Mail had said they delivered them but I had not picked them up so they were returned to them. Both sets would be reposted. One arrived a week later with no signs that it was a second time posting. The other box failed to arrive.Another week went by and in a phonecall they promised to get back to me 30 mins later.
7 days after that, still no call.I emailed them. The box turned up next day, obviously posted before my email. But the email received no reply either.
On top of all this, their website is hopeless comapred to the likes of PLAY where you can actually keep track of where your item is.On the enterprises site it reads "Shipped" but things only arrive 3 weeks later.
When the Dawn of the Dead box set was listed I pre-ordered at £21.99.I saw that it was shipped and on enquiring where it was, they told me it was postponed and the only way to remove it was list it as "shipped".I reordered it,and when it arrived noted that it was £30.99.Not a word about the increase, and obviously the reason all the preorders were deleted.
On the whole, and over the years,so many examples of poor service that I urge anyone thinking of using them to forget it.
Their prices are similar to PLAY,but never cheaper, their site is a joke, and their service is very patchy.

Well, thanks for that. I`ll be sure and steer clear.

Please don`t think I`m being rude or anything, but reading your tale of woe I couldn`t help thinking you must be a glutton for punishment! It would only take one, maybe two problems with a service, for me to avoid them like the plague. I certainly wouldn`t go back for a fourth and fifth helping of misery!

Ah well - he did it, so we don`t have to.

Cheers for that.

I was unfortunate enough to have dealings with these duplicitous fools some time ago while trying to secure sponsors for our site. They threatened me with legal action at the time because I told people exactly how dodgy they were (they used to post false reports under pseudonyms in uk.media.dvd praising their own company), but nothing came of it because I had email proof of everything. The moron in charge sent me threatening emails under two different names but through the same AOL account, then claimed he had nothing to do with the other person.

There was a lot more besides, but I won`t go into the details. Suffice to say I have advised people to steer clear of them ever since. To be honest I can`t believe they`re still trading. Don`t touch will someone else`s s***ty stick.

I only used them in recent years as they seemed the best option of ordering £18+ items and not paying any customs charges.
Do you have any suggestions?PLAY USA always end up with customs,The Disc Emporium get round them but their prices are outrageous, even at their new lower rate, and you pay more than you would get with customs on top.Good service though from DE.
I seem to get a lot of R1 £18+ items and don`t know of a UK based retailer who is any good.
Movietyme seem to get round charges, but they are quite slow, website tracking is not as good as PLAY,and many items ,like The Benny Hill Shows from A&E are not even listed.
Back to Enteprises and it is surprising that they still exist given the low prices of most other places, and without good service to make them worthwhile they deserve to fold.

I have found CDWOW to be ok for blockbuster or generally very popular stuff, but anything beyond that,or anything more than a few months old and they don`t even list it.I would be very surprised if any of the A&E releases of anything, let alone Benny Hill are listed on CDWOW.
Are DVDIMPORT UK based?
