RE: Anyone know where I can get a Darth Tater from?

Yeah, both of my local Woolworths have LOADS in stock... one nearest me has just got a load more in to go with their huge Star Wars Episode 3-related display.

RE: LOVEFILM TERRIBLE TURNAROUND

I`ve got to agree... When I was with Lovefilm I usually got 2 films a week. Blockbusters turnaround times when I subscribed were excellent - I easily managed 6 films a week. Still had the "top of the list" troubles with BB though :(

RE: 23RD CENTURY DVD LABEL

Try looking on the BBFC website for re-certification details on the 23rd Century releases - there are NONE!! Trust me, 23rd Century is a pirate outfit... they started out as 22nd Century, releasing VHS bootlegs on pressed DVDs with badly "scanned-from-VHS" covers with cut & paste BBFC certificates on them. They have only recently changed to 23rd Century, they originally still had the bad artwork but recently they have gone more upmarket with their covers. BUT THEY ARE STILL ARE GREY-MARKET COMPANY...

RE: ARGH JUST BEEN SUSPENDED BY EBAY

Ebay usually only allows you to go into arrears upto £50... so if you owe them £200 then I suspect that`d be the real reason!!

RE: 23RD CENTURY DVD LABEL

DOubt they`d have any website or contact details as ALL their releases are pirates!!! All VHS bootlegs too!!

RE: Canadian Holidays

Try GLOBESPAN (www.globespan.com) they are experts at Canadian holidays/travel... I use them every time I go over there

RE: Blind Purchases - any stinkers?

Arachnid - what a CLUNKER! Me and my bloody fascination with giant spider movies!!!

For Sale: LITE-ON 5005b DVD Recorder!!!

LITEON 5005b DVD RECORDER
No longer have a use for my Lite-On 5005B DVD recorder - I only bought it to back up some old tapes to disc, now they`re all done I no longer have any need for it. Bought from SVP 6 months ago (approx.).

Has been upgraded to multi-region AND has had firmware upgraded to allow the 3hr mode and disable macrovision... Still boxed, in MINT condition, with all cables and remote. FYI: I`ve found that the 5005b prefers Ritek GO5 discs - can be tempremental with other brands!!

£100 inc. P&P

RE: Do you collect anything?

Another 80s throwback here!!! I once even went to work with a Bravestarr bag, Ghostbusters hat and Thundercats sweatband on...

Everything I collect is all 1980s based:

Masters of the Universe (He-Man) figures
Annuals
Ladybird storybooks (the ones based on cartoons e.g. GI Joe)
Dungeons & Dragons figures
Sectaurs figures/comics
Chuck Norris stuff - figures/posters/movies
Comics - mainly Justice League of America
80s clothing - sweatbands/bags/hats/pinbadges

RE: "FREE" DVD`s at Tesco Kingston

Hmm... Free DVDs?? My local Virgin Megastore had a "free dvd day" last week - the forgot to put security tags on their "2 for £10" range and a whole bunch of them just walked right out the door!!

RE: Favourite film of all time?

Dream a Little Dream... seen it over 100 times!!

RE: Music Zone Sale from 27th Feb

Hmmm... went in today, CD bargains a plenty, BUT... DVD bargains?? Don`t make me laugh - some DVDs have only been reduced by 2/3p (from £5/£4.99 to £4.97) and some have even been RAISED in price..!

RE: Bargains in the Sky Guide

I`ve just ordered this stereo from Sky, they`re doing it for £69 - a total saving of £80!!

RE: What is a Philips CDi Player?

aljar - the Windows patch only allows the "Digital Video on CD" titles to be played as a regular VCD, you cannot play any of the games, etc.

RE: All Superdrug batteries a quid !

The "Longer Life" Superdrug AA batteries are just as good as Energizer batteries... 2 last me a week - thats around 5hrs a day for 7 days.

RE: What is a Philips CDi Player?

If you have any trouble with the discs, or if there`s anyone out there who has CDi discs that won`t play on a PC/DVD player, you should try here:

http://www.icdia.org/

There is a CDi emulator for the PC, called CD-Ice; and also a "patch" for Windows that will allow you to view the filesystem of the "Digital Video on CD" titles as if they were a standard VCD...

RE: Permanent Record out on the 17th.

Excellent! It`s a brilliant film... very emotional and very moving. And yes, a good performance from a young Keanu Reeves. I haven`t seen it since it last played on TV in the 90s. Definetly another one to add to the wishlist..!

RE: Is your collection a predictable range of Hollywood Blockbusters?

Try it now - My DVDs

Why is it wierd?? If I tell you I`m 27, then you look at the list of films... you`ll figure out why some people think its wierd...
