PC World but 2 get 1 free

Mark_thomps (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 24th January 2001, 19:53

As the title suggests PC World are doing a buy 2 get one free DVD offer. The offer excludes those in their Top Ten and Box Sets (e.g the ones which come with a screenplay and not 2 disc DVD`s)

I just picked up Magnolia, Spinal Tap and Raging Bull (all 2 disc packs I might add) for £39.98.

Happy hunting

PS. I also noticed movietyme.com were advertising the very excellent `Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon` on Region 3. Can anyone help me find anywhere else that has this on offer?

Con artists - they put the price of all of their DVD`s up to £19.99 when this started so they are not really losing anything.

Three Kings etc used to be £16.99 - shady!

That Thunderbirds deal`s got to be a mistake, I work part-time in GAME and we sell a boxset of the Thunderbirds DVD`s for about 100 odd quid! You got a bargain there!

Thunderbirds! Hmm I don`t think it was a mistake ;-)

Now why can`t they make mistakes on decent films?

007.

W.H Smith are doing 3 DVDs for £40 which is Buy 2 Get 1 Free in my money. The only restriction is that every CD must normally be less than £20 and includes all the CDs in their shops.

Example. I got Jurassic Park (WS), Bug`s Life, Das Boot (DC), Shakespeare in Love (WS), Jaws (Anniversary), and Tweenies for £80. Each was normally £19.99 except Tweenies at £16.99.

The Three Kings DVD retails for £15.99 at Currys. have also noticed that Blockbusters prices, tend to be about £2 cheaper than WH Smiths.

Just goes to prove that you have to hunt for a real bargin.

Surprise, surprise, 007 slagging off other peoples` perfectly valid tastes again. I suppose in his warped vision of an ideal world we would all be forced to watch an endless stream of HK martial arts films. Shallow doesn`t even begin to describe some contributors to this forum.

Thanks for FAB support.

Have just spent Sunday watching 4 hours of Thunderbirds with my year old son. He loved it especially the 5 4 3 2 1 start (actually got a bit sick of that scene).
Now just to look out for volumes 5-8.

PC world is the place for dvd bargains - the staff at the checkout and whoever sticks the price tickets on are always making mistakes, on everything they sell. Just maje sure that you always check the till roll as they make the same no. of mistakes in their favour !

Don`t want diss anyone, but HK cinema isn`t just saturated with chop-socky or action flix. It does convey a great diversification of comedy, drama aswell as the action. The top grossing Hk film in 2000 wasn`t a action film. Still think that prices in the UK should be like Hong Kong demestic releases.
