Open Water

I remember seeing the trailer for this at the cinema and thought it looked interesting.

Has anyone seen it/any opinions?

:)

I always had my doubts as to how interesting they could make a movie about two people bobbing up & down in the ocean. Don`t get me wrong, if the story is true, then the real-life experience must have been terrifying...but this film is dull.

It`s a difficult film to make, and I suppose you`ve got to give `em credit for trying...so I take my hat off to them for that. I found the film to be very, very tedious, with nothing to grab the attention. The worst part for me was the acting, which I thought was almost laughable & didn`t do the film any favours at all.

I`ve been reading rave reviews about this film for quite a while now, but it just didn`t live up to it.

Anyway, that`s only my opinion. I`m sure some people will disagree and enjoy the film. Each to their own!

couldn`t agree more - I gave up after 20 minutes as it so slow.

I went to see this on Sunday and it was a very slow and boring film which seemed to go on for over 2hrs even though its only 90 mins long. I have to agree that the acting was rubbish through out the film.I saw this and Envy over the weekend and these were the worst films I have seen this summer. I think this is one film that definatly doesnt live up to the hype as it doesnt even come close!

There was a thing on a true-live disasters type program on cable about a family whose yacht sank or something and they were in shark-infested waters. They were OK because they stayed together in a ring and scared away the sharks. When the coastguard came, they made the mistake of spreading out to be more visible - the sharks came back and picked off both the mother and a boy.

*That* was terrifying and it was about 5 minutes long. Quint`s telling the story of the sinking of the USS Indianapolis was one of the most scary bits of Jaws with no visual aid at all... I think that`s the problem it`s so horrible to imagine how you`d feel when those events were really happening, but boring to watch when you know they`re not going to get scoffed until the end anyway.

A twat a work said to me it was boring, and proceeded to tell me how it ended. I was fuming, and then she turned round and said `have you seen The Village?` To which I replied. `No are you going to tell me the ending to that one?`

I tell you what there are some thoughtless twats around.

What was the film, where, I think, a plane crashed in the sea where it was shark infested?
