I made a post about when they would be coming out a while ago and Kevin Smith has heard my prayers and is releasing `Mallrats` on R2 DVD! http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=R2&title=98244 YAY!

For an RRP of £12.99! YAY!

With f.a. extras! NAY!

Oh well looks like I`ll be forced to get it on R1... nay...

I have r1 of Mallrats. It`s a top film.

I think the r2 version looks `cheap and nasty`.

I noticed it is 4:3 - I take it this is a P&S alert!

Somehow I came across Kevin Smiths email address so I asked him about Region 2 release.

He said it was out of his hands and its was the studios who decided which DVDs to release on R2. He advised me to just buy the R1s as the extras will almost always be better than R2.

I have all his movies on R1 and I can tell you they are top. Tonnes of extras. Best ones for me are Chasing Amy Criterion Edition and Dogma SE.

I too like Dogma SE and have Criterion`s Chasing Amy on order.

So Simon, you gonna ask Kevin round for tea? Would Sir care to try savaloy and chips?

:-)

As I mentioned in my recent Mallrats review:-

http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/reviews/review.asp?Index=433&User=203

There is an R4 release of Mallrats early in the new year for about £8 or £9, but unfortunately none of the R4 web sites have very much information on it.
