Could be anything from a story you heard, to a movie you saw, or a nightmare that scared you s***less.

So what tormented you as a kid?

The original Robocop gave me nightmares for ages after a friend made me watch his dad`s copy of it. Also, the robot woman in Superman 3 had me hiding behind the setee many a time.

Also used to s*** me up when my auntie used to come around to cut my hair. :)

Here`s Chucky!

Alfred Hitchock - Used to pop up in my nightmares as a child.

I quite like the Helpdesk people in a benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) way as they do some valuable work in preventing us being inundated by every halfwit who can work a phone.

I remember watching The Evil Dead in my neighbours house years ago - I had been standing outside from where I could see their TV and they came out and said "Come on in til you see this.... " - can`t remember if it was ED 1 or 2 (which one had the pencil being shoved into someone`s ankle? This scarred me for life... )

"What are you doing here? Five words or less."

"Out. For. A. Walk."

"Bitch."

The front cover of my dad`s copy of C.H.U.D. used to scare me s***less.
That moment in Das Boot where the battleship suddenly appears in the German periscope always gave me a shiver as a child.

Worst nightmare I ever had was being alone on some desolate planet filled with little hairy jumping crab-like creatures chasing me, and just as they were about to catch me I woke up completely out of breath - that one really scared me.

Also, one night I was dozing off to sleep but could hear a light clicking sound that driving me mad. I thought it was just the blu-tac holding one of my posters up coming unstuck, but after turning on my lamp I discovered a 3-inch wide hairy spider crawling up the wall less than a foot away from where my head was lying. Suffice to say it died quickly, but the thought of it has haunted me all my life :(

My old mans most frightening experience as a child was watching a horrendous X rated childrens show called Andy Pandy, this had nightmarish repercussions on him. So he kept telling me.

I have watched a video of the end credits of this show and I can see what he was on about....

Its about a kid in pajamies, gender unknown, that sits in a box with Loubie Lu and Teddy (wonder why teddys always got a smile on his face), sorry, back to the story.

So far its a reasonably safe program, then at the end of the show, up pops a cardboard cutout of the end elevation of the house where they live, but its in two halves, hinged at the bottom, the two parts slowly rotate together, to show.... argh, wait for it... turn away now... you have been warned.. dissclaimer issued.

A big smillie grinning face painted on the side of the house. What an evil corrupt image, did it mean the house was alive ?

How many children other than my dad, suffered mental anguish from this picture, shown week after week. Maybe the BBC (or was it ITV) should pay for damages...Hmm.

Hiding behind the setee? You got off lightly. I soiled myself half a dozen times the first time i saw it.

Also, a film with Jodie Foster called, "The Little Girl Who Lived Down The Lane", i believe. Again, much soiling.

Then there was Lifeforce, The Howling, House and Critters. In fact, even Ghoulies 2 made me scared of the toilet for weeks. If you`ve seen it, you`ll know why. :o

I also used to dream about little men shaped like weetabix who wanted to eat my toes, and i had to get my mum to cover up the board game "Ghost Castle", because the skull on the box gave me the heebie jeebies.

Gee, it`s like therapy...

Any film, TV drama, or documentaries that was about WWIII.

The media went to town on the subject during the 80s, with programmes such as Threads, or The Day After, or films like The Miracle Mile which told you how it was going to happen and how it would affect everyday people, the thought of a Nuclear war scared me s***less as a kid.

The Singing Ringing Tree - a bizarre east European movie cut into TV bits and broadcast in the 60`s on the BBC. :o

Gremlins gave me the s***s as a young `un. Those piercing red eyes... *shudder* Still think they`re pretty freaky to look at. Used to have a little red light on my bedroom radiator right next to the mirror so it reflected and I always used to think there was one watching me!

"Hmm, new teeth, that`s weird. So where was I? Oh that`s right, Barcelona..."
