Just got tickets for We Will Rock You in the West End .Supposed to be the most expensive production yet.£7,500,000 to stage.A mate at work saw a preview show and it is meant to be brill.Any other Queen fans out there going.
My mate said hello to Brian May during the interval at the bar and his missus said "who`s that with the hair"Can`t Wait!

Hope you like it although looks like it was written by a 15 year old Queen fan as a school play rather than the man who gave us Blackadder!

Its set in the future with nasty companies ruling the world & telling the youth what music to listen to but a group of rebels (The Bohemians - ouch!) use the power of Rock music to free the world! Just wait till you hear how subtly they`ve incorporated the Queen songs, characters called Galileo, Killer Queen & wait for it . . . Scaramouche ( I wonder if they`ll do the fandango!). All hoping to avoid being sent to the Seven Seas of Rye!! There was even a time when rock ruled the ruled, this age was called The Rhapsody!!

Why have they done this? Queen are a good band so their music doesn`t need some shoddy sci-fi musical built around it!!

Sounds like Mr Elton been listening to Rushs 2112, same sort of idea but not so corny.
If your interested Play 247 are doing a region dvd in 5.1 of Queen not got my copy yet but its on its way.
Its from the game tour, used to have it on video and it was pretty good.

Don`t know anything about the stage show but I know there`s an update of the "We Will Rock You" dvd described above - Region 1 with DTS/5.1 soundtrack, anamorphic widescreen transfer and loads of extras...

A certain Robert De Niro is the producer behind this show. Just when you thought his judgement couldn`t get any worse....

If it makes a lot of money, his judgement would be spot on, cos he would too. :)

It`ll have to do some business before it even starts to make a profit. Hope it flops. Queen were s***e after all. :-)

Did anyone see the cast perform on Parkinson Saturday night?

I don`t know what to think of it. It`s a cool idea, but I didn`t quite think it worked without the voice of Freddie. Granted George Michael did a good job when he did that tribute concert, but `Somebody to Love` just didn`t sound right with a girl singing it. And the guy singing We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions was trying too hard to sound different to Freddies style whilst trying to stay close if you know what I mean.

I suppose just take it for what it is, and you`ll be fine. Obviously it will and never can sound the same as the original songs, so prehaps I`m being harsh.

Will Roger and Brian be playing live at every performance like they did on Parkinson or will it be just recorded music?

Sounds to me like a Bill and Ted-style stage show. I recommend having a look at the latest Private Eye for a spoof Ben Elton diary :-)
