Hi
Try looking in their website [ liteon ] http://www.liteonit.com/

You can download the manuals [ pdf ]
The complete absence of any high quality inputs(no RGB or Svideo)should make this machine a non starter unless you are recording from analogue only.
Surely it has a DV in as it states that allows you to transfer DV tape to DVD?
I bought one of these DVD Recorders on the 2nd July 2004 and am mighty impressed with the goods.
Setup is fairly straight forward [if you dont try and dive in without reading the basic instructions!] and the quality of the recording is excellent
I have read about a number of firmware upgrades that extend recording to 3hrs which would be very useful as a lot of films are over 2hrs now but I wont be flashing the hardware until I am happy.
Next step is to find a reliable DVD brand to record to
Its lists the below on Curry`s site:
Now Record onto DVD
Record all your favourite tv shows
DV Link input - digital camcorder recording
DVD+R, DVD+RW recording
6 hours recording capacity
Digital Audio Ability
Why are you only getting 2 hours on a disc? Have you not read how to change the recording settings?
RE: LITEON LVW5001B information
Of course I have read about changing the recording settings- you can get anything from 1hr to 6hrs on a single DVD but the higher the recording time on the DVD then the lower the resolution and definition.
Record at HQ which gives you 1hr and you get th ebest quality, record at 6hrs per disc and you get below VHS comparison

I have read about a number of firmware upgrades that extend recording to 3hrs
it does sound like you NEED a firmware update, the way you said it :/

Thanx in advance
