It is now, apparently, available under AUTOMATIC Updates only, at this present time.
Why does M$ make things just that bit more tedious?!

I wonder why its taking forever to do, I noticed something using my bandwidth yesterday, and i wasn`t using the net for anything (on broadband) so I thought cool, will have it soon, still not downloaded, not even seen the update icon with the progress. Stupid why they didn`t have it on the update site, I would have had it installed by now.
It must be imminent - my Windows Update just upgraded itself to V5.

Why do MS insist on trying to control the way people do everything. Fair enough they`ve made an SP2, but why have such a big song and dance about it? I am quite capable of checking for updates myself and turning things on or off myself but MS are just drawing it out for those of us that don`t want any `auto updates` running in the background.
That company really p1sses me off!

I had to open up some bits of my firewall to allow the update that i usually have closed. With the new updated Updater I had to configure other parts of the firewall, trial and error. It was fine as it was until M$ mucked it about.
Now, I am getting a lot of activity, but is it SP2 downloading? Nothing tells you, no system tray icon, no warnings.
Daft, and hardly the security they are trying to promote for SP2.
A word of warning, after installing SP2 you will find a new control panel called Windows Firewall, which is the first place to go and look if anything remotely network related no longer works properly, including online games.

I think they are insisting on automatic updates to keep down the load on their servers and stagger the release so you`ll get the download when there is a free download slot available when autoupdate queries the download site
How do you know if it is downloading or not? There is no indication. Any ideas as to where the download might be stored?
A bloody nuisance.
