Page 1 of Nokia 6600 on orange contract

Not going into the pros and cons of contract over payg but I have just got orange to upgrade me to the new 6600 for £49.95. This may not sound to impressive but when you take into account that my current contract is not up untill the end of jan and it should be £300+ with orange. To do this I dialed 150 then 6, 3 and 3 and told the person there that I wanted to leave and they asked what they could do to keep me. It was that easy no arguing (?) or haggling. I should have the phone on Monday.

Not bad! How much is your monthly spend? I`m waiting for the 6600 on T-Mobile.

I have been with orange for about 11 years now, and have never paid for an upgrade yet. They usually give me what i ask for anyway, but i have used the `leaving` ploy about 4 times now, and it works everytime :)

My spend is anywhere beetween £50 and £100.

If anyones interested: Vodofone.co.uk for £170 with a £15pm 100anytime tarrif or cheaper phone if you get the higher montly tarrif - not a great offer though :(

Anyone managed to track down a carry case for the 6600? Tried to find one in town today with no luck.

Also try ebay, there are plenty, I picked up a leather case for my Z600 last week for under a tenner.

If only everything was half price at Woolies !

When you speak to someone at orange, do you say that you want to leave straight away and then they ask you what can change your mind or do you ask for the phone at a cheap price and then ask to leave if they don`t offer it to you at that price?

After getting through to the disconections deparment I just explained that as my contract was up soon and I could get a better deal else where. They then asked what phone I was looking for. I told them and they said they would do it for £50 and befor my contract was up. I don`t know if I pushed it any further wether I would have got any more but it seemed a fair deal. They must get this type of call all day long so don`t be embarresed, just have an idea what you want befor hand.
