Page 1 of How many dvds do you all have?

I have just recently (January) got a dvd player and already find myself with over 30 dvds. Is this normal? I am worried that im buying to many. How often does everyone buy dvds? I think i need to pace myself more.

Well i get them when i can! i got a dvd player for Christmas and So far i got 14 but there are 6 in the post! well i need to buy more because this is the best format a film can be put on and the Quality is GREAT. I say KEEP on BUYING your doing GOOD. My dvd player is a GOODMANS G100 and i hacked it and is v.GOOD!!

Have to agree that I have more DVDs already (in 10 months) than I have VHS cassettes (ooh - years and years).

Too many to count...

I got my player last summer, but I only have 15 discs.

I have only ever bought one VHS tape........then I found DVD........yummy.

Aye.

I only have a handfull. I think DVD is about quality over quantity.
Its all to easy to pop into Woolies or Asda and buy three for £30.00.
Ask yourself, if it were VHS would you still buy them ?
Sometimes, less is more.
I wonder how many people actually watch and digest the dvd extras as sometimes the stuff can be really interesting.

However, I am lucky - a mate at work owns 160 region one movies so I usually tap him up for a couple a week...;)

stop worrying! you can`t go wrong with DVD - although it will never be as good as THE best format in the world - the sony betamax.

hehe yeah, their anamorphic video and surround sound rocked, especially the instant scene access and menus :P

tho i`m right with you up to the dvd point - betamax does kick everything else`s arse

I have bought around 15 since before Christmas but I make the point of only buying on DVD films that I would like to watch over and over again, have plenty of decent action scenes and special effects etc, I wouldn`t just buy a DVD for the sake of it, that`s why I bought the Matrix as my first DVD simply, from my point of view, it was made for DVD !

I have about 35 which are all quality movies, and then about 5 that I`m not proud of.(e.g Wild Wild West).

I`m more selective these days about what I buy, and ask myself if I actually want the film or whether I`m getting it just to have it, if you all know what I mean.


Luckily though, my uncle owns over 1000(2 whole wardrobes full) U.S discs so I use him as a free rental service!
