If you download MP3 from the internet you support "Drugs and Prostitution" so says Kim Howells

Taken from the sun ....

--------------
CUTURE minister Kim Howells yesterday accused Robbie Williams of supporting drug and prostitution rackets by saying internet music piracy was "great".

The pop idol, 28, was reported to have said of internet piracy: "I think it's great, really I do. There is nothing anyone can do about it."

Mr Howells said the remarks amounted to "defending theft" and added: "Robbie Williams should realise many of these operations are linked to organised crime."

He is doing the work for gangs involved in drugs and prostitution, who find music piracy an excellent way of laundering profits."

Other people said that maybe Kim Howells should find out about "Internet Piracy" and "MP3 Sharing" before making half baked comments.

Mr Howells is basing his comments on fact, sort of. Organized pirates do make money and use that for nefarious ends.

However, I have downloaded music and movies from the internet, but I`ve never paid for the privelege, thus, I`m funding no-one`s bid to take over the world. I`ve only done a few MP3`s, it`s not like it`s a problem, I can handle it. And the the movies I d/l are of such poor quality, that if it`s a good film, I`m going to pay to see it at the cinema anyway.

Maybe internet piracy is `Really great` but should half of Robbie`s current fanbase choose to download his current album instead of paying for it, maybe he won`t think it`s so smashing when he realises he has to take a pay cut.

Untill this country starts to charge a fair price for cds, dvds etc... and movies are released at the same time as the US.. there is always gonna be piracy...

So excuse me while i sit down to watch my DVD Screeners of The Two Towers, The Ring, 8 Mile, Gangs Of New York... and smoke some weed..

(and don`t even think of complaining.. coz i go to the cinema every weekend.. i spent 100 quid on dvds every month.. so i think the industry gets enough out of me!!)

To be honest I think it helps to sell the music, kids listen to the stuff then buy it, they want the booklets and free poster you sometimes get and the real item.

People also asume that every thing that you D/L is something that you would normaly buy, not so!

I D/L stuff but also buy a fair amount of DVD`s and CD,s from places that charge a fair price, and a fair price is the answer to piracy.

Bought Goldmember from W.H Smiths sale ( plus others ) for £8.49p,
two other shops I went in it was priced at £16.99p.
Am I suppose to assume Smiths never made a profit.
.
I bought four DVD`s from WH Smiths, nothing from the other retailers, The music industry as ripped us off for years and people like CD WOW do more to beat piracy with fair prices then anything a bloated MP has ever done!

And as for prostitution.....Well MP`s are some of their best customers!

Well I`m not going to comment on this one as I made a comment on a previous message months ago about piracy, and it got deleted.

So won`t say anything except for...

Sex and drugs and rock `n` roll
Is all my brain and body need
Sex and drugs and rock `n` roll
Is very good indeed

Gonna get with this piracy thing me like. Some of the best times of my life were spent off my face with Hazel the nice £5 hooker up the street.

Is it just coincidence that since the advent of music piracy, more CD`s are being released with bonus DVD`s, posters, and other random things??

I realise this has been going on for a while but it does seem to have become more prevalent in recent days.

Personally, I only really download rare/deleted and live tracks.
But I support music sharing websites wholeheartedly.

In fact, when Metallica spoke out against them, and started suing people left right and centre, I was highly tempted to download their entire back catalogue.

I`d like to see him make a public statement confirming that he`s NEVER:

Copied a record or CD to tape;
Used any form of unlicensed software on his computers;

etc etc

And if you do support drugs and prostitution, is piracy then ok????
