Which part of history has shocked you the most?
Just watched a programme on the biography channel, about a bloke in the 1960s who went up a university tower in Texas and shot 41 people dead. I`ve heard about it before, but it was just shocking to think about those innocent people killed for no reason.
So what event in history has shocked you the most?

I agree, how an Intelligent race of people could try and wipe out another race of people is beyond me.

For me 9/11 because I watched it live on T.V
I watched parts of it live & even rang "The Deer" in Canada to get a live update for my work colleagues as the very first reports were confused (at least in UK).
Most of the post mortem in the press & the continual broadcast coverage (with the footage of people jumping etc & planes crashing) that day I missed due to working away from home & being in a cruddy hotel room with a portable TV that used wet string for its aerial.
The second for a similar reason was the Concorde crash, I woke up about 7pm (Finished shift at 2pm) & wandered down to the pub (it had B&B rooms) bar & saw the footage.
I quite like the Helpdesk people in a benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) way as they do some valuable work in preventing us being inundated by every halfwit who can work a phone.
