Had a look and this is listed at £6.99, no good bargains for me - guess I`ve missed out
Help - TV signal switcher
Seen this in Argos and it seems to imply that I can have it attached to the main TV and watch freeview channels or DVD/video on another TV. Is this true?
2 Room Booster with Surge and IR.
Mains powered signal booster to improve weak TV/FM reception.
Also allows you to distribute video, satellite, digital and cable programmes in up to 2 other rooms.
RE: 2 Room TV Signal Booster with Surge and IR £3.74
Excuse the ignorance, but does this mean if I can watch the freeview channels on another TV without the need for a second box?
RE: Back to the Future Trilogy £13.99
Too true - with vouchers it`d only be 12 squid!!
Back to the Future Trilogy £13.99

Did you see it in-store?
RE: Currys 7 day price promise
I guess it all comes down to the individual store and sales guys. Had a really crap experience with Comet (different post) and vowed never to shop there again.
Hence ended up in Curry`s - thankfully the guy in my local Curry`s was great. So there`s another top sales guy besides Jimbo ;)
Sorry you had a bad experience with them - may be worth popping into a different Curry`s branch.
RE: Need New TV any suggestions-within the realms of sanity?
What`s not too expensive? Give us some ball park figures :p
RE: cd-wow January Sale
Quote:
Do you mean The Two Towers?
No I did mean the third and final one - Return of the King.
But looks like they have finished with their sale stuff at the moment - the offers aren`t as good as they were last week. Although I did get a 50p voucher with each dvd I bought so can get some discount on the next one!

RE: cd-wow January Sale
Utter Pants to be fair. Big let down for these guys
Gotta disagree with you - got some good deals like Return of the King for £6.49 and free P&P, arrived within 3 days.
Still waiting for the stuff from Play.
No cheaper than using a £1 discount code
From where?
RE: Fuzzy pic from new video
Had a bit of a fuzzy picture when I got my new TV at xmas and thought it was the set-up too or the scart cables.
Turned out it only happened IF the scart cables touch the power cable to the digi box. Not sure if that`s the same for you but try moving the cables/wires away from each other.
My set-up is:
Digi box scarts to TV and video
TV scarts to digi box and DVD player
Video scart to Digi box (the second one is empty)
Haven`t got cable so don`t know if you have more than one ariel connection to worry about.
All the carts I use are black and I don`t think the colour makes any difference.

Anyone know if there is a factory re-set button on this 28W TV? Or know any websites that have this information on them?
Played around with the settings, but decided it looked better before I started - DOH! :/

RE: CD-WOW dodgy search function?
I found it OK, but it does require you to be precise - I was looking for X-Men and didn`t use the dash and got nothing back.
Otherwise just browse through the bargains - they`ve got some excellent deals. Got Return of the King for £6.99
Return of the King for £6.99
At CD-WOW, price includes delivery :p
RE: Currys 7 day price promise
Just to let you know, the store called me at 11am to say it was ready for pick-up, have it and it works great.
Also it`s not gone down in the sale so a good result all round! :p
Now just to find the factory re-set button - messed around with the settings too mcuh and decided it looked better BEFORE I started!! :/
One happy Curry`s customer! :D

Unfortunately this link takes you to the home page of lidl and I can`t seem to search for the TV. Any ideas if all stores do them or was it a limited offer that has now gone?

You musta got them on a good day to get the discount!
Just used my female charms and fluttered my eyelids (yeah right!)...just pushed my luck and they offered 5%. Then when they said they wouldn`t be able to get it until Friday I looked so forlorn and said it wasn`t fair and I really wanted it asap he took pity on me (or wanted shot of me!) and offered me another 5%.
Will let you know if I`m happy with the TV - IF I get it tomorrow - got a bad feeling - hope I`m wrong.

RE: Are the Sky subscription costs going up soon?
Quote:
There was precious little live football shown prior to SKy coming along
Maybe true, but I could at least watch all of the England games as part of my license fee, now I can only watch some. I wish I could afford £40 odd a month for Sky...but I can`t so miss out on watching a sport I love. I even plan to go to the gym so I can watch certain games live - only to find they are on PPV and they haven`t got them on. So even £40 a month won`t be enough
RE: Currys 7 day price promise
Jimbo
I bought a Ferguson 28" widescreen TV and stand - can`t remember model number but - price should have been £219.99, got it for £200.

PayPal Scam
Got the following email from our IT department:
Please be aware of a PayPal scam doing the rounds currently.
Those of you who use Ebay and Paypal will occasionally receive emails from both parties (actually the same company)
It has been brought to our attention that an email proporting to be from paypal claims your account has been suspended and you need to logon to the paypal website to reinstate your account - the email also provides a very handy link - which takes you to a webpage that looks exactly like Paypals - BUT ISN`T!
If you enter your login details into this page - they will be recorded by the site and almost certainly used to drain whatever funding source you use for PayPal.
This scam looks very convincing - and is very simple, as all they need is your username (email address) and password to be able to use your account.
BE AWARE of any emails of this sort (from banks etc) and delete them immediately.
RE: Currys 7 day price promise
:p I got 10% off as they couldn`t get it until Friday. So shouldn`t lose out by much. But knowing my luck they won`t get it to me by Friday :(
Currys 7 day price promise
If you buy anything now and the price goes down in the next 7 days Currys will refund the difference.
Have bought a TV for xmas and will check on boxing day to see if it is discounted in the sales!
RE: Philips 28PW6008 - any good?
I know I should have got a Lodos from sainsburys....too late now :(
RE: Philips 28PW6008 - any good?
Thank you :)
I actually popped into Currys at lunchtime and saw a Ferguson 28" widescreen for £220 - tempted by that as I can get it immediately and don`t have to wait (or pay) for delivery.
Any thoughts on Ferguson?? :p
Philips 28PW6008 - any good?
There are loads of 28" widescreens around and I wondered if anyone had one a
Philips 28PW6008
and if so, is it any good?
RE: NEC 616ev mobile
I`m not desperate for the phone at all - it`s been offered as P/E plus a bit of cash for anh unlocked nokia 2100 I`m getting rid off.
NEC 616ev mobile
I`ve been offered one of these for £20, but it is on the 3 network, I wanted to give it to someone for xmas and i know they are on vodafone PAYG.
Does anyone know if it`s easy (and cheap) to get these unlocked and is it a good phone for the price?

RE: Comet Clearance - don`t expect working goods - according to Comet Store
Have to agree with you - UNTIL now!
Had always received good service from comet and comet online were fine - but this guy obviously doesn`t think you should buy from comet clearance!
Comet Clearance - don`t expect working goods - according to Comet Store
I bid for a TV on the Comet Clearance site and was "lucky" enough to have the winning bid. Well everything went smoothly, the delivery centre confirmed the date and phoned an hour in advance, arrived 30 minutes later. so far so good :)
BUT when we set it up it had 3 nice vertical stripes in red, blue and green...so phoned the delivery cente, guys came back and said "Hmm, tube`s buggered" and took it away. :o
To get my refund I was told to go to a Comet store and also they may do me a deal as said item was not working. Well Mr Store Manager in Slough was the not taking any responsibility and saif "But you bought an item from a clearance site and therefore it`s not likely to work properly is it". Doesn`t matter that it was sold as new with a year`s guarantee. Eventually got refund but no deal. :(
Nice to see Comet staff have so much faith in the products they sell. Wonder which retailer I won`t be going to again!
