RE: VCR head-cleaning advice - please

use a foam bud instead and not a cotton bud as the cotton fibres may come away and get stuck to the heads!

RE: Whats wrong with this picture.................

what model philips tv is it, i have a philips 32pw6006 with a dark rgb problem as do a few others (had for a year and a half), (as uncle buck says search www.avforums.com for mine and other posts on the problem) on mine the only items that worked via rgb are my philips digiboxes. unlike yours my ps2 also has the dark rgb problem. as far as i know there is no cure. my current digibox is a philips dtr1500 freeview box(which is fine via rgb) which has rgb passthrough via the second scart and if i connect the items that are dark via the digibox the dark problem disappears. :/ items i have connected direct to tv that are too dark [sony ps2] [sony dvp-ns305 dvd player] [venturer dvd player] samsung dvd player "forgotten the model think it was an s224" its a very strange problem. :/

RE: Sound Problems with Philips TV

I have the 32 inch version, i have the treble set at 70 and the bass set at 60. The sound from this model is not very good but since you are having trouble in all sound settings it looks like the tv is faulty.btw my tv`s sound was better after a couple of weeks of being used.

RE: Human Traffic.... Why so cheap?

At 4 quid it`s a bargain, Top film!!!!

RE: Philips 28 pw 6006 owners please look in!

I have the 32inch version and have the same problem, with exceptions, i will explain. I have a philips itv-digital set-top box which has a perfect picture via rgb, my playstation2 via rgb is way too dark and totally unwatchable. i have recently purchased a sony dvp-ns305 dvd player which is 80% watchable but dark areas and scenes are still too dark but no where near as bad as the playstation2. i have to view both sony items via s-video to get perfect picture. I also had a venturer dvd player which was as bad as the playstation2!

What i would like to know is why one item is perfect, one item so-so and one item is unwatchable!? Electronics don`t just luv `em!!!

P.S i have had the tv about six months!

RE: TV DVD COMBI AT ALDI

the same tv but badged as a bush is in the index catalogue page 310 .

RE: venturer home theatre system.

i did have one but had to take it back because the front and rear left speakers were buzzing. They are a good introduction to home cinema, the bass isn`t gonna shake the room but the seperation from the satellite speakers is good.

RE: venturer home theatre system.

open disc tray then type 9817, a menu will pop up allowing you to change the region and also turn off macrovision.

RE: Venturer Home Cinema from Tesco ??

mine was noisy too, its worse if you put in a cd it sounds as if is about to take off.(p.s the reason i say was is because i took it back because of two buzzing speakers.)

mona lisa - poor picture quality

just bought mona lisa dvd and find the picture quality to be poor, anybody else found the same?

RE: Can PS2 play region 1 DVDs?

yes. just bought it myself good value considering that region-x on it`s own is £19.99!

RE: Playing Region 1 DVDs on PS2

for the best quality picture you want a rgb scart cable(plugged into a rgb enabled scart socket), or 2nd best is the s-video cable. if you use the rgb scart cable you need something like the region-x software to get rid of the green screen. if using the s-video lead then you do not. P.S. i have found the ps2`s dvd playback to be as good as most budget dvd players

RE: Limit DVD 3030 = Medion DVD 7950 ?

the medion 7950a sold originally at aldi for £129.99. i bought one but on certain dvds the picture glitched in the bottom right hand corner and when playing back mp3 files it made a loud bleep at random intervals, i took it back and got another one but it did exactly the same, so back that went. the bush 2004 is also the same as the medion internally. i also had one of those but the picture displayed a lot of picture noise and the drive was noisy, so i got my money back!

RE: DVD FOR PC`s

you are better off getting a hardware decoder,i have a hollywood reelmagic+ decoder which you can get for £55. this can be made region free and have the macrovision disabled by downloading a piece of software, which is free. the software is called remote selector and can be downloaded from www.visualdomain.net. the picture quality is exellent.

RE: Can computer DVD players be hacked?

yes they can, you don`t say if you have a decoder, or if it is hardware or software?
anyway try www.visualdomain.net and www.inmatrix.com the downloads are free!
